On-Site Labs

At most primary care offices, doctors have to send lab results away to a private laboratory and the results may take up to a week. At American Family Care Suffolk, we have an on-site laboratory that serves to expedite diagnoses and helps our physicians to prescribe an accurate course of treatment. When you come to AFC Suffolk we can perform the following lab tests:

CBCs - These tests can check for signs of infection or anemia.

Urinalysis - Used to check for pregnancy, urinary tract infections and drug screening.

Cultures - We can test saliva and mucus for strep and flu.

Chemistry - We can check for signs of dehydration, electrolyte abnormalities and liver function abnormalities

Results are available quickly. Depending on the test, you may wait only a few minutes, or up to a few days.
